We’re sharing with you a list of our favorite beaches near Barcelona.

Playa Gava Mar (20 km from Barcelona) — is a wide beach with soft sand and shallow water, which is especially convenient for families with children. The beach has chiringuitos (beach cafes) and a wide selection of restaurants, some of which have children’s areas with small houses, slides, and various toys.

Vilanova i la Geltru (50 km from the center of Barcelona) — is a beach loved by many families with children for its cozy and beautiful atmosphere.

Playa Badalona — is a middle ground between the beaches of the Catalan capital and the more remote non-touristy beaches. You can reach it by metro (Badalona Pompeu Fabra station, L2). The beach has several cafes, and although there are tourists, there are significantly fewer compared to the beaches in Barcelona.

Playa d’Ocata — to reach this beach without a car, you can take the Rodalies train towards Blanes and get off a couple of stations later at a very wide beach near the El Masnou sports port. This place is particularly enjoyable for beach volleyball enthusiasts as there are many nets available.

Playa De Vilassar De Mar – the beach is very narrow (which may not be ideal), but in some areas, it has a charming atmosphere with chiringuitos in a fishing style and boats on the shore.

Cala de Sant Francesc — is a tiny but very clean and cozy beach with crystal-clear water and marine life, perfect for snorkeling. You can walk from Blanes along a path that offers fantastic views of the sea and coastline.

Playa Canet de Mar — is if you’re looking for not only a town with nice beaches but also a place with rich history and culture, Canet de Mar is a wonderful option.

Sant Vicenç de Montalt and Caldes d’Estrac — the beaches of these two towns merge into each other. It’s a peaceful place with clean sand.
