Public transport travel card

Barcelona has different cards for public transport depending on duration, age, amount of people that are using this card  and so on. Here we would like to explain to you the main difference between T-cards mainly used by the locals, while in the other article we will talk more about several options for the visitors.

1) T-usual (single ticket)

If you want to use the public transport occasionally

The classic single ticket is the right ticket for you, if you want to use the public transport rarely. With the single ticket, you can e.g. take a ride on a TMB city bus or use the metro. 

Specific regulations:

• Not valid for Aeroport T1 and Aeroport T2 metro stations on line L9 Sud.

The current price (2023) for the single ticket for one zone is EUR 2.40

2) T-dia (ticket for one day)

Individual travel card valid for an unlimited number of journeys during 24 hours (1 day) as of first validation. 

Specific regulations:

• Valid for a maximum of one round trip to or from Aeroport T1 and Aeroport T2 metro stations on line L9 Sud.

The current price (2023) for the single ticket for one zone is EUR 10.50

3) T-casual (10 journey ticket)

The “T-Casual” card is suitable for you, if you have a longer stay in Barcelona with a rare use of the public transport.

Specific regulations:

• Not valid for Aeroport T1 and Aeroport T2 metro stations on line L9 Sud.
• You have 75 minutes between the first and last validation when changing lines or mode of transport in 1-zone.
• The simultaneous use of the “T-Casual” card by several persons is not allowed. 

The current price (2023) for one zone is 11.35 euros

4) T-familiar

A multi-person travel card valid for 8 journeys in 30 consecutive days from the first validation.

Specific regulations:

• Not valid for Aeroport T1 and Aeroport T2 metro stations on line L9 Sud.
• You have 75 minutes between the first and last validation when changing lines or mode of transport in 1-zone. This time increases by 15 minutes for each zone. 

The current price (2023) for one zone is 10 euros

5) T-grup

A multi-person travel card valid for 70 journeys in 30 consecutive days from the first validation. 

Specific regulations:

• Not valid for Aeroport T1 and Aeroport T2 metro stations on line L9 Sud.
• You have 75 minutes between the first and last validation when changing lines or mode of transport in 1-zone. This time increases by 15 minutes for each zone. 

The current price (2023) for one zone is 79.45 euros

6) T-jove

A personalised travel card valid for an unlimited number of journeys in 90 consecutive days from the first validation for under 30s providing proof of age by means of a valid national ID document, foreigner ID document (NIE) or passport. 

Specific regulations:

• Valid for Aeroport T1 and Aeroport T2 metro stations on line L9 Sud.
• Only available with special T-mobilitat card that you have to order in advance.
