IdCat - digital signature
IdCat is one of the digital signatures in Catalonia that allows you to do a whole range of administrative activities online.
What can IdCat be useful for?
At the moment, more than 1000 actions in various government agencies can be done online with such a digital signature. For example, you can apply for a school for a child, change a residence permit, print a fresh residence permit, check the status of requests, and do many other actions.
Getting such a signature is very easy if you have:
TIE or DNI
CatSalut (TSI) card
Spanish phone number
Steps:
Go to idcatmobil.cat
Press Request for my IdCAT, and then Start
Choose the type of document and enter the data that the system will request
You will receive an SMS with a confirmation code
Enter it and you’re done.
If you do not have a residence card and CatSalut:
At step 3 (instructions above) you need to select No, I don’t have any of these documents
You will be prompted to sign up using a selfie with a passport
You should receive a response within 48 hours
If you do not want to register with your selfie, you can go in person (with a passport) to one of the authorities that helps register IdCat (on the same site, find face-to-face sign up and you will see a list of addresses).
